Maryam Rahman is a multidisciplinary artist and a graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art. She teaches at the National College of Art. Her work spans from video, installation, and public art interventions to miniature painting and drawing. She has a particular interest in drawing as a formative, primal, sensory, and intuitive thinking tool.
In addition to her conceptual art practice, Rahman also has a traditional practice. She is pursuing a 7-year postgraduate education in Lahori Nastaliq at the Lahore Hast-o-Neest Institute with the purist master Imdad Ahmed, who comes from a lineage of court calligraphers.
Maryam manages the Art Site of her late aunt, Lala Rukh.
